We are developing Hard Life 1 in Unreal Engine 5 to bring the most realistic and atmospheric experience possible.
From the lighting and shadows to the character details and weather effects—every technical decision is made to support the story and mood.
We’re aiming for grounded visuals, immersive locations, and a world that feels alive even when nothing is happening.
Our team spent a long time studying the capabilities of the engine before we even wrote the first line of dialogue.
We believe the tools we use shape the way a story feels.
And this story needed something powerful.

What Kind of Game Is Hard Life I.?
This isn’t a fantasy world. There are no superpowers, no chosen ones, no epic wars.
Hard Life 1 is about people.
And sometimes people are more dangerous than anything else.
You play as Vlad.
He doesn’t want to be a criminal. He also doesn’t want to be a victim.
But life doesn’t always give you a clean choice.
The city he enters is cold. Quiet. Violent in a way that doesn’t need explosions.
The story is slow. Intentional. Focused on how people move, how they speak, and what they don’t say.
Most of the time, nothing is explained directly.
You learn by watching. By listening.
And sometimes by doing things you wish you didn’t have to.
